York Ebor Promises So Much

August 15th, 2017 | Marten's Current Racing Diary

The York Ebor meeting starts on Wednesday and I am writing a two-part Online Preview, with Part One available to view on Tuesday evening and Part Two on Thursday evening.

I have found winners at 16/1, 8/1 (twice), 5/1, 3/1 (twice) etc in recent issues and three of last year’s best bets were Barsanti 5/1, Nemoralia 15/8 and Abingdon 13/8.

This year I am especially looking forward to discussing the Betfred Ebor Handicap, for which I have a double-figure selection assuming the ground is right, and the Nunthorpe, which sees the highly anticipated clash between Lady Aurelia and Battaash.

The Juddmonte International promises to be up to the usual high standard with top three-year-olds Barney Roy and Churchill up against Ulysses and Highland Reel. Enable will be at very short odds to win the Yorkshire Oaks – if she turns up – while the Great Voltigeur can provide important clues for the St Leger.

As usual I will have news for the support races, notably for the Melrose Handicap and a two-year-old that has been saved for the nursery.

This promises to be one of the best weeks of the summer. Please refer to my Online Shop for details of how to order.

Bye for now!
