Marten Says:

Time moves on, and in order to embrace the changing face of the Cheltenham Festival, with the dominance of Willie Mullins and a number of short-priced favourites, we were delighted to launch the Cheltenham Festival Spotlight Guide last year.

Unlike the Bulletin Book, which previewed every race at the meeting, the Spotlight Guide focusessed specifically on the five horses that each of the four members of my team most fancy, graded from ***** to *, with their reasons for doing so.

The Spotlight Guide was released on the eve of the first day, thereby allowing our team to factor in the up-to-date going and latest information and in time to take advantage of any early prices.

The team consiststed of Ronan Groome, with his news from Ireland, Jodie Standing, with her specialist knowledge of the staying chasers and Ian Carnaby. I focussed as usual on unearthing a plot or two in the handicaps.

The writers drew on personal observations and, if possible, information from trainers and connections.

We believed that this new service offered some original insights to guide the reader through what remains the embodiment of jump racing at its best.

“Just a few lines of appreciation concerning the work that has gone into this year’s Cheltenham, truly fantastic from Marten and the team.  Leaving any aspect of potential profit out of the equation, the volume and quality of research that has gone into it all is more than outstanding. I am still dining out on Native Rivers win a few years ago. Sincere thanks for great reading and all your effort, truly appreciated.”
