West Ham must make a start here

September 9th, 2017 | Ian Carnaby's Sports News

It was good to get back on track when Exeter narrowly accounted for Newport last week. They are an attractive, compact unit and can gain promotion this term.

West Ham have been in some disarray and the rumours about Rafa Benitez making the move strongly mooted a couple of years ago will hardly help the situation. But Slaven Bilic has been down this road before and the Hammers, unlucky to lose at Southampton, can get off the mark against Huddersfield on Monday evening. The Terriers will give it a go this season but only just held on against the enigmatic Saints and I think they will find this a very difficult task.

The bookmakers continue to overestimate Southampton, whose problem is still In front of the opposition goal. But sometimes their football in the opening twenty minutes is most impressive and one of these days they will get the early goals to settle the issue. That may happen against Watford, although the Hornets have started well and, like most middle-ranking Premier League teams, will come to St Mary’s with a draw looking an attractive outcome.
The early-season bubble seemed to burst at Ipswich last week and they will do well to repel an attractive if inconsistent QPR in a game where should be goals.

WEST HAM 30 units at 5/6 to beat Huddersfield
SOUTHAMPTON 20 units at 4/6 to beat Watford
QPR 15 units at evens to beat Ipswich
