It was surprising on Tuesday when Double Oscar could not quite match Sharp Hat in the last at Beverley. The Nicholls sprinter is particularly well at present and should soon find a winning opportunity.

My thoughts after the King George Stakes at Goodwood were that Ivory Dawn was in no way handicapped by a high draw, but simply found the pace too hot on fast ground. There will come a day in the autumn when she is very attractively priced indeed on an easier surface.
