There should be goals at Gillingham

March 25th, 2017 | Ian Carnaby's Sports News

We nearly had a clean sweep last week, with both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace winning and Nottingham Forest and Derby finishing all-square. 1-1 would have meant the proverbial icing on the cake but in fairness Forest only saved it at 2-2 deep into stoppage time.

I seldom get involved on big international days and this weekend is no exception. Portsmouth look good things at home to a very poor Newport side in League Two but 2/5 is too short so the only bet to appeal is both teams to score when Gillingham meet Peterborough in League One.

The Gills are having an indifferent campaign but they invariably hit the target at home and will enjoy playing the Posh, who keep things open and hit the target with impressive regularity on their travels. I imagine we shall have to accept a shade of odds-on but I’d be prepared to go as low as 8/11.
