MK Dons can ease away from danger

November 12th, 2016 | Ian Carnaby's Sports News

The draws did not quite work for us last week, which ended a winning run, although only a very late goal in the Burnley-Crystal Palace match cost us a handy pick-up. Newcastle beat Cardiff all right, although you can see how quickly Neil Warnock is having an effect on the losers.

This is a very quiet weekend by comparison, especially as I seldom bet in international matches. I never really knew why MK Dons dropped straight back down from the Championship last season, although a crippling injury list early on had something to do with it. They have one of the best management set-ups but things are going awry again and they find themselves in trouble towards the foot of League One.

Even so, I think they have enough about them to beat Walsall, who very nearly went up in May but would certainly have struggled at a higher level. All in all, the Saddlers have done well following the departure of Dean Smith because he is one of the most talented managers outside the Premier League, but they score very few goals away from home and this looks a hard task.

The bookmakers are not being generous, surprise, surprise, but I’d be prepared to take the 17/20 about the Dons with Hill’s. There is nothing else this weekend and we shall pick up again in seven days’ time.

MK DONS 20 units at 17/20 to beat Walsall.
