Encore D’or in swift return

There will be no turf racing in Britain on Saturday and looking for AW possibilities just for the sake of it is invariably a mistake.
The one thing that occurs to me is Encore D’or returning to Lingfield a week after his late, unavailing effort against Gracious John. He needed two more strides there and is clearly in good heart, while the booking of Ryan Moore is clearly a major plus. We saw what a difference the former champion can make when he rode Abe Lincoln during the week.
If this were a middle-distance race I wouldn’t back Encore D’Or because the race comes plenty soon enough. However, sprinters bounce back in a matter of days and it has to be a bonus that the likely favourite has drawn stall one. He is the only bet on a very quiet day.
