Bookmakers ensure a Stoke V Hammers draw is the only value

It was a good season overall and if you backed Spurs and Walsall each-way it was an excellent one.
Like everyone else I was hugely impressed by Leicester’s Premier League triumph, though I do believe Tottenham were the best attacking side and I feel they will win a major trophy next term. In fact, they may well be good things to win the title, because Pochettino has signed a long-term deal, which means several key players will stay. The complication is the Champions League but they probably have the squad to handle it.

I was all set to recommend Southampton as a major bet on the final day but the bookmakers have factored in Crystal Palace’s forthcoming Wembley appearance and I don’t think we want to play at 4/11. Watford v Sunderland and Newcastle v Tottenham depend largely on the players’ attitudes. Spurs will beat a demoralised Newcastle if they want to see the season out in style and stay ahead of Arsenal but there will be a strange mood at St James’s and I shall leave it alone.

If Southampton win and West Ham draw at Stoke, the Saints will probably qualify for the Europa League. West Ham have to go flat out but Stoke can be a tough proposition at home and they will want to leave their supporters with a good feeling. It’s not a day to be heavily involved but it looks a draw to me.

Stoke v West Ham 20 units THE DRAW at 11/4
