Bowson Fred – if he stays

March 11th, 2017 | Ian Carnaby's Racing News

I was disappointed with last Saturday, although things have been much better on the line since then and Dawson City provided a welcome boost at Wincanton on Thursday. My Cheltenham thoughts are published in the Weekend Card and I shall be repeating them as the week goes on, so there is no need to ramble on here. In the Stayers’ Hurdle, where Unowhatimeanharry is very short indeed, I’d be inclined to back both Shaneshill and Snow Falcon each-way. Their form bears the closest inspection and I feel they will both pose some sort of threat.

This is just the sort of prize the Pipes try to lift and, if his hurdling technique has improved over the very different obstacles here, Max Do Brazil really could be anything.

However, he should get a pitch nice and early from stall three, the opposition is not great and he is well worth a handy each-way investment.

Count Merival would have beaten a 1/3 Henderson shot last time but for a bad blunder at the last and he has worked well since.
