Due to the strange circumstances of the 2020 Flat racing season, The Two-Year-Old Guide 2020 will certainly provide a longer-lasting value and validity than in a normal year.
So many handlers have had to amend their initial plans with their juveniles, whilst the book also features a host of horses not expected to really flourish until their three-year-old days in the eyes of their trainers.
About the book
Dan Briden has interviewed dozens of the country’s leading and lower-profile trainers, bloodstock agents and owners, to learn what they have to say about their current crop of two-year-olds.
Each section includes an extensive profile of the horse’s pedigree together with direct quotes from the connections.
Marten adds his appraisal at the end of each section, with personal insights drawn from his past recollections of the sires, mares and families of the featured horses.
This wonderful piece of work, which amounts to over 80,000 words on over 500 horses, will prove an invaluable source of reference for both this season and way beyond.
Over 60 people have been interviewed for this book. Here’s a few names to keep you going:
Andrew Balding, Ralph Beckett, Henry Candy, Harry Dunlop, William Haggas, Jessica Harrington, Mark Johnston, Hugo Palmer, Roger Charlton & John Quinn.

I can’t believe how much enduring value I’ve had with Dan Briden’s Two Year Old Guide 2020. All seemed to kick off with Muker winning at 40-1 in the Spring, and now deep into November I had a very small each-way bet on Marsabit at 66-1 earlier today at Kempton. He swooped very late at 7-1, obviously plenty in the know. Wonderful stuff…
