“Although it’s a fairly quiet weekend after the business of Goodwood and Galway, I still have something of interest for us at both Haydock and Ascot, and in Ireland I’m particularly looking forward to a dark horse with a winning profile that I’ve unearthed over the jumps. On Sunday there are appealing races in both France and Ireland, where I’ll be aiming to dig out a little bit of value.”
Marten writes:
“Shergar Cup weekend is not to everyone’s taste, but I have been pleasantly surprised to have found plenty to write about on today’s busy programme, with unexposed talent and a couple of selections with top speed figures for us to back. There may also be something interesting on Sunday, ground permitting.”
