Weekend Card 26 April

£4.00

Edition 328

In this week’s edition we welcome back guest contributor Ronan Groome who is on hand to preview the final two days of the top class Punchestown Racing Festival.

Marten writes: “A packed Card this week, with almost 9,000 words including five well-informed selections for the last two days of Punchestown from Ronan Groome, Jodie Standing’s news for Perth and Ian Carnaby has something for Musselburgh on Sunday. My news includes a dark one for Windsor on Monday, a very unexposed hurdler for Punchestown on Saturday and a multiple Lucky 15 on the first four Classics, with the four-timer alone returning odds of just short of 100,000 to 1.”

Description

Marten Says:

“The popular and highly-profitable Sleeper section will be amalgamated with the Under The Radar feature and, in the absence of a Dark Horses Guide, the Premier List qualifiers will be published in the Card with updates every week on their forthcoming entries and progress.

I am particularly excited by my new Dark Horses section which is devoted to some intriguing long-term handicap projects, with big-race targets, a select bunch of unraced and unexposed horses and my weekly updates and informed comments as and when the qualifiers have entries. This feature includes some intriguing news from a few shrewdly-run northern yards.

With the emphasis throughout the Card on continuity, my Look Ahead is coupled with the Retrospective – my appraisal of how the previous week’s selections, both winners and losers, performed.

Our regular contributors Jodie Standing, covering the jumping scene, and sprint handicapper specialist Ian Carnaby will be joined by a monthly feature from Dan Briden, who will pass on his information on unraced two-year-olds of topical interest.”
