With the Newmarket July Festival in full swing, this weekend we are spoilt for choice with the sprinters lining up for the Group 1 July Cup on Saturday, while on Friday we have the fillies in action for the Falmouth Stakes, amongst many other highly competitive and season-defining races. We also have two-day meetings at Ascot, Chester and York, while the summer jumpers are satisfied with action at Perth and Stratford. What a weekend!

“It’s Super Saturday this weekend, with the Bunbury Cup and Group 1 July Stakes at Newmarket and the John Smith’s Cup at York. There is also top-class action at Ascot and an interesting card at Chester. I have had a horse in mind for the Bunbury Cup for a while and I also have strong news for a progressive horse declared to run on Friday. This is one of the best Saturdays of the season.”
Jodie writes:
“It feels as though we’re back with a bang this weekend, with the action cranking up noticeably after a quieter spell. There’s plenty to discuss tomorrow and I’ve come down on a couple of selections, with cases made for a few more. On Saturday, a handicapper looks ready to continue his upward progression, while on Sunday I’m hoping to find us a bit of value over the jumps.”
