Weekend Bulletin: 27 February

The showpiece heads to Kelso for the bet365 Morebattle Hurdle, Scotland’s most valuable hurdle race and includes an additional bonus of £100,000 if the winner can double up at the Cheltenham Festival. There we also have the Grade 2 Premier Hurdle for novices and a Listed chase for the stayers.

Newbury and Doncaster also host two-day fixtures with the highlight being the Grimthorpe Chase. Marten and Jodie will be delving into the cards to provide their concise analysis and well-reasoned tips for the three days.

Marten writes:

“We’re counting down to Cheltenham but I’ve got my eyes on a mud-loving plodder for Ffos Las on Sunday who appears to have been saved for this race and on Saturday I’m looking at something at Kelso.”

Jodie writes:

This weekend brings a cracking card at Kelso if the entries hold, and I’ll be passing on my thoughts for a few horses who look to have more to offer. I also have my eye on a handicap chaser at Newbury whose form has worked out particularly well, while at Huntingdon on Sunday there’s a horse in the bumper I’m keen on.
