The Dark Horses Companion contains:
The Premier List: Marten’s highly select choice of horses that he believes will pay to follow.
The Dark Horses: Marten’s contacts have guided him towards a handful of unraced and unexposed horses that have given their connections plenty of encouragement in work at home.
The Dark Handicappers: Marten has unearthed a few ‘projects’ that were campaigned as two-year-olds with a view to starting the new season from favourable marks.
The Classic Previews: Marten finds you some ante-post value for the first four Classics, fresh from his recommendation at 16/1 for Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle Preview of the Dark Horses Jumps Guide.
Did you know?
The Dark Horses series of books was first produced in 1976.
They have become widely recognised and respect as the authoritative source of information about unexposed and unraced talent.
The Dark Horses underwent a slight rebrand in 2019 when Marten felt the title “Dark Horses Companion” was better to describe the book as it’s meant to be your companion throughout the season.
Marten says
“I am particularly pleased with the handicappers I have found for the forthcoming season. The usual trainers appear, but I have unearthed a handful of very unexposed horses from lower-profile yards that qualified for handicaps during the autumn and all-weather season. I am also excited with my news for some of the unraced qualifiers for the Dark Horses section.”
