The Weekend Card

What is the Weekend Card?

Marten was unable to write a Dark Horses Annual this year, so his horses to follow for the season (his Premier List) were exclusively revealed in the first edition of the Weekend Card for the new season on 19 April and they are updated every week. Marten believes these horses have the requisite attributes to yield a profit to level stakes by the end of the season. There are updates every week on their progress with any forthcoming entries.

The hugely popular Sleeper Section contains his select list of a dozen horses, which evolves through the season, comprising of handicap projects and unraced or unexposed horses that Marten has reason to believe have not yet revealed their full potential.

Marten’s Dark Horses are introduced and discussed, as and when they have entries, in Marten’s Look Ahead feature, with updates and informed comment. This section, as before, is coupled with the Retrospective – Marten’s appraisal of how the previous week’s selections, both winners and losers, performed.  The emphasis throughout the Card is on continuity.

Our regular contributors Jodie Standing, covering the jumping scene, and sprint handicapper specialist Ian Carnaby will be joined by a regular features from Dan Briden, who will pass on his information on unraced two-year-olds of topical interest.
