Finian’s Oscar Now Out

Hi there,
Far more often than not a leading contender for the Festival sustains a setback the weekend before the meeting and we have had two in the last forty-eight hours.
The first relates to Gold Cup hope Don Poli, who was third in last year’s race and has picked up an unspecified injury. This follows the setbacks to Thistlecrack, Coneygree and last year’s winner Don Cossack. Gigginstown Stud still have options with Outlander and Empire of Dirt, who may now be rerouted from the Ryanair Chase.
The second bits of news through this morning is that Finian’s Oscar, who has suffered a bruised foot, will miss the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle.
Neon Wolf, who has been steadily supported for the race, is now a top price of 2/1, with Bacardys next at 3/1. Let’s Dance, Death Duty, Willoughby Court and Augusta Kate are next in the betting but all have alternative targets. This leaves Messire Des Obeaux looking a little bit of value at 10/1 each-way.
